Hi there!

It’s Christine here, Joules’ twin sister and web-mistress extrodinaire! I had to take Earthjoules off line for a few days as our sites got hacked with a malicious file script. (Not that Joules updates a whole lot anyways ~_~)

But she’s been a busy busy bee making jewerly for the wedding season that seems to be upon us, and maybe if we’re lucky she will share some pictures soon!

I’ve spent some time away from my computer, away from the Internet…maybe even away from myself. I have found I need to step out side of my self sometimes to grow…to gain new perspective, to change. And while I take this hiatus of self discovery the rest of the world marches on and I awake on the eve of summer. Ready and eager to rejoin myself but left with a bit of catch up.

I have lots of new things I’ve been working on, jewelery and crochet, with a bit of steampunk thrown in the mix. Both my sister and I agree on one point especially with what we”ve learned so far, in our direction for twinlove and earthjoules and that is to focus on our more unique and one of a kind creations. The ones that inspire us and have that special spark while created. We”re going to leave behind the mass production to the factories, and do what we do best. To make beautiful and functional things.

Earthjoules, the site will see a bit of a change, as its going to get a much needed overhaul. I plan to evolve earthjoules into a more personal blog page where the galleries and content will be more of my creations in progress, prototypes or gifted items. Where I can talk about and archive all of my creative efforts. Things that are made for sale will be fully displayed at our twinlove.ca site where my twin and I plan to focus our efforts this year. Our highly anticipated new fall line is just about to be launched with summer finally here and we’re both very excited to share with you the creations we’ve been working on all year !

Oh what a Summer!

So, …Yes, there is a bit of a gap from my last post to this one and I have no excuse, but I have lots to catch you up on, including some new projects and some exciting news. It’s nearly the end of the summer, and I’m happy to say it was a full, wonderful, busy, dynamic, crazy, hectic awesome season. As I look back though, I can’t help but already look forward to the autumn. Falling leaves, brilliant colours, there is something in the change where I feel most at home. This time of the year always brings me focus. I’ve spent most of this year learning new techniques and trying to polish them and now I feel as if its time to culminate them altogether and make it happen. The first task on the agenda is the launch of the much anticipated TwinLove designs which will feature unique and collaborative handmade accessories from both of us. (that is my Twin Sister, Christine, and I) Here’s a sneak peak….

Soon, all these and many more creations will be posted for you to look at, in our new shared etsy store Twinlove.

On another note, I also have some exciting Earthjoules news. A particular Wire art piece of mine was chosen to be featured in a Wire Art Calender for 2010. I am extremely honored to be included as there are some extremely talented and amazing artist in this Calender. Thanks to Marjorie Oxman for putting it all together and contacting so many different artist and bringing us all together. You can check it out here.

In the mean time I’ve been busy working hard and playing hard ; ) I always forget how busy the Store can get in the summer, its a little overwhelming some days. When I come home I mainly crochet and I find I haven’t had much time to really make any jewelery. This is something I hope to remedy soon, as I can feel my creative forces stirring already! I’m definitely looking forward to this season, I feel it all around me…..I love the Fall!

So i decided to make some jewelery this morning. I have been crocheting like a mad old granny for the last month and thought maybe I should spice things up. So I dug out may hammer and anvil, dusted off my tools, and pulled out some of my cases of beads. I started with something pretty simple, earrings, but decided to hand make the ear hooks for these particular ones. I made four sets.

These are just a lil sneak peak……so what do you think? Each pair has four photos each, and you can find them in the Earrings Gallery on pages 4 and 5. As per usual these and more will soon be up for sale on my etsy site.

So these are just a few pics of some of my finished pieces. I love this blue…..its so soft. I’m definitely excited about the ribbon, I’ve brought home some metal ribon ends from work and I’m going to play aound with finishing the ribbon in various ways. With a beads on the end, or a crystal or charm to weight the ribbon.

Thanks Christine for the cute flower button idea. And this is the new edging technique I’ve been using…its sort of a reverses of the edging I use to finish the other opening in the arm warmer. These are soon to be up for sale on our new shared twinlove site. We’re very excited about, its almost finished.
